If you never saw my first page before, I'll reiterate. I live in the Texas Gulf Coast. My name is David, and friends call me fiannor, or elf. I have several hobbies of which most are plastered on the following pages. I like most things Japanese including Sushi and the Shamisen. I study the language and love the culture and history. Strange for a Texas boy maybe, but there it is. I am a nature nut, (go Euell), and an ex 1960's hippie wanabe. I also am crazy about most things Australian, (especially the beer), and think Aussies and New Zealanders are the best folk, and know how to have a good time. I grow Bamboo, various species of Banana Plants, and practise Homeopathic Medicine, and gather local herbs. I brew beer, and Mead, (that ancient Viking and pre Bronze Age beverage of the gods that most likely predates both Wine and Beer). I am a bad night owl, (even for night owls), have 1 cat, 1 Iguana, 1 cichlid fish, and the world at my fingertips from midnight till dawn. I have been an avid Role player for ever, and have played with the same great bunch of guys for over 15 years. Although I haven't done it in a long time, and no longer can spend weekends away, I loved camping out with the SCA, otherwise known as the Society for Creative Anachronism, (not Anarchism), and hope to do so again someday. If you've never heard of the SCA check your local parks for lots of thumping sounds. When you see 30 or so people in medieval period costumes your in the right place. Lets see what'd I leave out. Tolkien! There's a picture of my LOTR (Lord of the Rings), posters on the, "my house", page here, and there's also a link to my Eldamar website, (about Elven home). I started reading LOTR when I was 16 in 1969, and his world carved out a place for me in mine. I could never say enough about Tolkien and the LOTR, but then there's alot of us he touched. BTW Legolas was not a blonde and he didn't ride a white horse, (ahh Hollywood), and I suggest if you have only seen the movies, (though they were awsome, especially to LOTR fans), you should read the books, as there's entire chapters that could not be fit into the scope of the film, understandably. I waited most of my life for Tolkien to be done with real actors, and think Peter Jackson caught the spirit of the book admirably.
Well that's all for now, though I need a better background, (one I could see would be good:), and I'll probably keep adding pages as I find new hobbies. My most recent is making Artisan Bread from scratch.
Unfortunately when I first made this website I Only had a book on HTML 4 and realize now that the site needs some up to date HTML editing. For one, the pictures no longer produce a title when touched by the mouse, and the links to my other pages below are almost invisible, (you can drag the mouse with the left button held to make them readable if their not visible already), and at first I thought this was simply my own color choices, but no matter what hex color chart number i use the links are still mostly invisible. I hope to work on these problems soon, and please bear with me, everything is still here but my HTML needs a shot in the arm, so i guess i better buy another book. lol)
The Midi you might be listening to is Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street, my fav artist. It's hard to find other midi's of Raff, and it's a shame, cause he's done so many great songs that most people have never heard of. Then again with the antiquated html here, you might not, (I dunno cause I can't hear a thing lol).
